Fredericksburg Man Dies in Crash
Mount Vernon Police District – A 59-year-old Fredericksburg-area man died on Thursday, May 15, after being ejected from a 2004 Chevy Suburban.
John David Buxton was driving westbound on North Kings Highway, near Kathryn Street, around 7 p.m., when his vehicle struck a curb, traveled up an embankment and struck trees. The vehicle rolled over and the victim was ejected. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Crash reconstruction unit detectives are investigating the crash. They believe the victim was not wearing a seat belt. They are investigating whether or not speed and/or alcohol may be contributing factors in the crash.
