At 2:08 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27 officers were called for a single vehicle crash in the area of Towlston Road and Shouse Drive. Mary Eckert, 80, of Potomac, Virginia. was going north on Towlston Road in a 2002 Lexux RX200 and ran off the right side of the road striking a tree. She was transported to a hospital and died on May 29 as a result of her injuries.
Speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
