Current Status of McKenna In-Custody Death Investigation
The Fairfax County Police Department’s in-custody death investigation of Natasha McKenna remains ongoing. As previously mentioned, the conducted energy weapon (TASER) that was used in the incident is being independently tested to evaluate if the device was operating within its designed specifications. Major Crimes Division detectives are awaiting test results from the laboratory to include in their case, which will be turned over to the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Fairfax County for final determination of criminal liability.
The Fairfax County Police Department will provide further updates within the next thirty days or as soon as additional information becomes available.
