BURGLARY: 5500 block of Old Mill Road, 07/15/15 at about 6:11 a.m. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property. The suspects were described as black males with one having dread locks.
BURGLARY OF AN OCCUPIED DWELLING: 6300 Golf Course Square, 07/16/15 at about 2:00 a.m. The victim awoke to the sound of footsteps in his home. As he exited his bedroom, he saw an unknown male running out the front door. Nothing was taken.

VEHICLE PURSUIT WITH APPREHENSION, Backlick Road near Barta Road, 07/16/15. An officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on Backlick Road. The driver disregarded the officer’s signal to stop and attempted to elude the officer. The vehicle crashed and the driver exited the vehicle, attempting to flee on foot. The officer was able to apprehend the driver after a brief foot pursuit and effected an arrest. Damian Benton, 23, of Alexandria, was charged with DWI, disregarding police signal to stop, driving on a suspended license, refusing of breath/blood test, hit and run accident and possession of marijuana. Benton did not require medical attention.
ASSAULT: 7200 block of Little River Turnpike, 07/15/15 at about 6:22 a.m. The victim was in a nearby park when two men approached him and assaulted him. The victim incurred non-life-threatening-injuries.

BURGLARY: 7900 block of Patriot Drive, 07/15/15 at about 2:23 p.m. The victim was arriving home when she noticed a male walking out of her front door. The suspect fled on foot. Cash was taken.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY: 7600 Royston Street, 07/15/15 at about 2:43 a.m. The homeowner heard his garage door opening and went out front to investigate. He observed a female running away from his property. Nothing was taken.
