Commercial Robbery in the Springfield Area; Suspect Apprehended

Police arrested Brian Harman, 32, of 7716 Bristol Square Court in Springfield, following an investigation into an early morning robbery at a gas station. Officers were called to the Saratoga Sunoco, located at 8040 Rolling Road, around 6:40 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, for the reported robbery.

An investigation determined a man entered the gas station wearing a black cap, black pullover sweater and black pants with white socks covering his hands. The suspect reportedly passed a note to a 37-year-old male employee, demanding money. The employee complied and the suspect fled from the store.

Responding officers, including K9, the helicopter and detectives, set up a perimeter and began searching for the suspect. A short time later, a K9 officer and his partner, Uno, located the suspect, Harman, hiding in a trash dumpster behind the Saratoga Shopping Center. He was taken into custody without incident. Harman is charged is one count of robbery.
