Fatal Pedestrian Crash in the Fairfax Area

Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred on Thursday, September 17, around 9:58 p.m. on Braddock Road, just west of Twinbrook Drive. Detectives with the Crash Reconstruction Unit determined a 71-year-old man was driving a 2004 BMW westbound on Braddock Road in the left through-lane when a man walked in front of the moving vehicle and was struck.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver remained at the accident location. Alcohol may have been a factor for the pedestrian. The identity of the deceased 37-year-old man is being withheld pending the notification of family members. This investigation is ongoing.
