Beware of Paving Scammers

Make sure to check contractors for business licenses when they come to your door soliciting for work.

Detectives believe there may be victims of a scammer using the company name of “Veracity Construction” or “Morgan Paving.” The scams involving this company date back to 2011 and have reportedly been ongoing since that time. The suspect takes payment for a project; sometimes totaling thousands of dollars, then the work is not performed. The Virginia Department of Professions and Occupational Regulations (DPOR) revoked this company’s license to run a paving business in 2011.

So far, victims have been identified in Burke, Fairfax Station, Vienna, Herndon, as well as Loudoun County.

Detectives seek assistance in locating additional victims and ask that they contact the West Springfield District Station Criminal Investigations Section at 703-644-5047.
