Bank Robbery in Reston


Officers responded to the report of a bank robbery at the Sona Bank at 11527 Sunrise Valley Drive on Saturday, October 10 around 10:30 a.m. A man walked into the bank, handed a teller a note announcing a robbery and demanding money. An undisclosed amount of cash was handed over and nobody was injured. The suspect fled on foot. He was described as a white male, 25-30 years old, 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 8 inches tall and 170 to 180 pounds. He was wearing blue jeans, a gray sweatshirt and sunglasses. The police helicopter and K9 team responded to the area.
