The Daily Police Blotter for October 13, 2015 – Weekend Recap

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

There will be a Citizens Advisory Committee meeting held at the Sully District Government Center Wednesday, October 14, at 7:00 p.m. Featured will be a presentation on hostage negotiations.

ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT

DIRECTED PATROL, 10/10/15. Officers from the Mason Police District patrolled the county for drunk drivers. One driver was charged with DWI. Fourteen summonses and six criminal arrests were made. Eleven warnings were issued.

SULLY DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY: 14400 block of Woodmere Court, 10/09/15 at about 4:28 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person entered the residence and took property.

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY, 8000 block of Central Park Drive, 10/11/15 around 10:16 p.m. The victim was walking and was approached by two men. The suspects displayed a handgun and demanded money. Property and cash was taken and the suspects fled. The victim did not require medical attention. The suspects were described as black males wearing hoodies. 

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: 8900 block of Fort Hunt Road, 10/09/15 at about 4:34 p.m. A group of juveniles were playing in the street when a vehicle drove towards them in an aggressive manner and yelled obscenities at the group. The vehicle was described as a white SUV driven by a white female. The case is under investigation. 

BURGLARY: 6300 block of South Kings Highway, 10/09/15. A resident reported that an unknown person entered the residence and took property.  

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 6600 block of Richmond Highway, 10/10/15. An employee reported that an unknown person entered the business and took property.  

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: 3100 block of Lockheed Boulevard, 10/11/15 at about 9:48 p.m. Two males were fighting in the street when officers arrived. After the investigation, one man was being placed under arrest and forcefully resisted arrest and spit in the officer’s face. Michael Fletcher, 31, of Alexandria, was charged with disorderly conduct, drunk in public, obstruction of justice and assault on law enforcement.

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

DRUNK IN PUBLIC / INDECENT EXPOSURE: 1900 block of Chain Bridge Road, 10/09/15 at about 10:01 p.m. A man was being disorderly in a restaurant and had gone outside. When encountered by police his pants were down, exposing his genitals to the public as well as being extremely intoxicated. Francisco Casais, 25 of Reston was arrested and charged with indecent exposure and drunk in public.

MASON DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY, 6300 block of 8th Street, 10/09/15 around 8:15 p.m. The victim was walking and was approached by a man. The suspect displayed a stun gun and discharged it at the victim. The suspect took the victim’s property and fled. The victim incurred non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was described a white, wearing a black mask and dark clothing.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, Barrett Road/Westlawn Drive, 10/10/15 around 11 p.m. The victim was walking and was approached by two men in a vehicle. The men exited the vehicle and one of them displayed a handgun at the victim. The suspects demanded property but the victim did not have anything to relinquish. The suspects fled and were described as Hispanic and in their 20s.

ROBBERY, 5500 block of Seminary Road, 10/12/15 around 11:04 p.m. The victim was walking on the sidewalk and was approached by a man from behind. The suspect pushed the victim, took property and fled. The victim was not physically injured. The suspect was described as male of unknown race, 20s, about 6 feet tall, approximately 180 pounds, and wearing a black hoodie.

ROBBERY, 7400 block of Little River Turnpike, 10/12/15 around 7:18 p.m. The victim met the suspect through the website Craigslist and agreed to meet for the sale of a phone. Upon meeting, the suspect took cash and fled. The suspect was described as black and in his 20s.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: 6600 block of Arlington Boulevard, 10/09/15 around 12:57 p.m. A woman was found to be trespassing and advised to leave. When she returned a short time later she was arrested. During the arrest she resisted and assaulted the officer. Helen Armstrong, 56, of Washington DC, was charged with disorderly conduct, larceny, resisting arrest and assault on law enforcement.

RESTON DISTRICT STATION

ASSAULT ON FAMILY MEMBER/ASSAULT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT, 12000 block of Greywing Square, 10/11/15 around 6:27 a.m. Officers were called for a report a domestic assault where a man physically assaulted three family members. During the arrest of the man, four officers were bitten, kicked and physically injured. The electronic control weapon (ECW) was deployed but the man continued to fight. Jose O. Canales, 21, of Reston was charged with strangulation, three counts of assault, and four counts of assault on law enforcement. Canales was transported to a local hospital and was not physically injured.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 1600 block of Washington Plaza, 10/09/15. An employee reported that an unknown person entered the business and took property.  

BURGLARY / STOLEN VEHICLE: 11800 block of Breton Court, 10/12/15. A resident reported that an unknown person entered the residence and took property. Car keys were also taken as well as a vehicle from the residence.

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY, 9500 block of Richmond Highway, 10/10/15 around 4:22 p.m. The victim was walking along a path near the Lorton Library and was approached by two men. One of the suspects displayed a handgun, physically assaulted the victim and demanded money. The suspects took property from the victim and fled. The victim did not require medical attention. The suspects were described as black and in their 20s.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: 3000 block of Westhurst Lane, 10/09/15 at about 9:21 p.m. A resident found a door which had been opened by force and damaged, but no property missing from the residence.
