The Daily Police Blotter for October 26, 2015 – Weekend Recap

This report is published every weekday, except county holidays. Neighborhood Patrol Units from the Fair Oaks District conducted surveillance of illegal activity in hotels and six charges for operating a bawdy establishment were made.

POSSESSION OF HEROIN, Balmoral Forest Road/Balmoral Green Avenue, 10/23/15 around 4:38 p.m. Officers were called to the area for a suspicious vehicle. Officers located illegal contraband within the vehicle. Hamish Ferguson, 44, of Round Hill, Virginia, was charged with possession of controlled paraphernalia and possession of schedule I/II substance.

ROBBERY: 8100 block of Fordson Rd, 10/23/15 at about 4:59 p.m. The victim was sitting in a vehicle when a woman and man approached him. The male suspect produced a handgun and demanded the victim’s belongings. The suspects took property and fled. The victim was not physically injured during the event. The suspects were described as a black male, about 5 feet 8 inches, weighing 145 pounds wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans. The female suspect was a black female wearing a brown leather jacket and black spandex pants. 

BURGLARY: 6900 block of Lodestone Court, 10//23/15. A resident reported an unknown person entered the residence and took property. 

BURGLARY, 8800 block of Cooper Road, 10/25/15. An employee reported someone entered the business and took property.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 8400 block of Del Norte Court, 10/25/15 around 9:31 a.m. Officers were called to a residence for a report of a burglary of an occupied dwelling. Upon arrival, the suspect was taken into custody and arrested. Dujuan T. Johnson, 24, of Alexandria, was charged with unlawful entry.

NDECENT EXPOSURE: 8300 block of Leesburg Pike, 10/23/15 at about 1230 p.m. A woman was shopping when a man standing next to her began to scratch his genitals and then exposed himself. The subject fled prior to police arrival. The suspect was described as Hispanic, between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches, dark hair and wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans.

INDECENT EXPOSURE: 3500 block of South Jefferson Street, 10/23/15 at about 5:06 p.m. A woman reported that a man was in a vehicle exposed himself to her. Officers arrived and located the suspect. Melvin Eaton, 67, of Alexandria, was arrested and charged with indecent exposure in a public place. 

BURGLARY: 4200 block of Wadsworth Court, 10/23/15. A resident reported an unknown person entered the residence and took property.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2200 block of Huston Place, 10/25/15. A resident reported an unknown person entered a vacant residence. Nothing was taken.

VEHICLE PURSUIT, Richmond Highway/Gunston Cover Road, 10/23/15 around 3:54 p.m. An officer attempted to stop a motorcycle for a traffic violation on Richmond Highway. The operator of the motorcycle disregarded the officer’s signal to stop and attempted to elude the officer. The driver lost control of the motorcycle and crashed and was arrested. Austin L. Sturgeon, 21, of Lorton, was charged with disregarding police signal to stop, reckless driving, driving on a revoked license, resisting arrest, carrying a concealed weapon (2nd offense), and possession of marijuana. Sturgeon was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE WITHIN 1000 FEET OF SCHOOL PROPERTY, 6900 block of Lavant Drive, 10/23/15 around 5:40 p.m. Officers conducted a warrant service at a residence and located the wanted suspect. Illegal drugs were located by officers and a search warrant yielded additional contraband. Daniel A. Kiros, 27, of Springfield, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana within 1000 feet of school property, felony distribution of marijuana, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a weapon by a felon.

ROBBERY, 9500 block of Braddock Road, 10/25/15 around 6:55 p.m. The elderly victim was loading her vehicle with groceries in the parking lot of a shopping center and was approached by a man from behind. The suspect pushed the victim to the ground and took her purse. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled and was described as black, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, and wearing a gray sweatshirt. 

BURGLARY: 7700 block of Kalorama Road, 10/23/15. A resident reported an unknown person entered the residence and took property.

GRAND LARCENY/UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2900 block of Hunters Branch Road, 10/25/15 around 10:57 p.m. Officers were called to a business for commercial alarm. Officers located two men and took them into custody. Leroy Price Alexander, 48, of Washington D.C. was charged with grand larceny and unlawful entry. Byrant C. Hewlett, 48, of Washington D.C. was charged with three counts of grand larceny and unlawful entry. 

BURGLARY, 13200 block of Lazy Glen Lane, 10/24/15. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.
