Robbery in the Fairfax Area – Police Seek Assistance Identifying Suspect

Police are investigating a report of a robbery that occurred in the parking lot of a Safeway store in the 9500 block of Braddock Road, on Sunday, October 25, around 6:55 p.m. A man approached the 84 year-old victim while she was loading her vehicle with groceries from behind. The man took the victim’s purse by force which caused her to fall to the ground. The victim incurred non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The suspect fled and was described as a black male, in his 20s, and approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall. The victim’s credit cards were used later in the day at a Kmart store to make unauthorized purchases.

ROBBERY, 9500 block of Braddock Road, 10/25/15 around 6:55 p.m. The elderly victim was loading her vehicle with groceries in the parking lot of a shopping center and was approached by a man from behind. The suspect pushed the victim to the ground and took her purse. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled and was described as black, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, and wearing a gray sweatshirt.
