ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT

A DWI checkpoint was conducted in the 7600 block of Old Keene Mill Road, on Friday, 10/30/15 from 11:30 p.m. until 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, 10/31/15. 787 vehicles passed through the checkpoint. Eight vehicles were pulled over for screening. One person was charged with DWI and one was charged with possession of marijuana.

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

 FOOT PURSUIT/ASSAULT ON LEO/CONCEALED WEAPON: 7800 block of Richmond Highway, 10/30/15 at about 6:30 p.m. An officer on patrol noticed a subject he believed  was wanted. The officer verified the subject’s wanted status and attempted to arrest him. The suspect fled but was apprehended a short distance away. During the incident, Jared Musgrove, 20, of the 6500 block of Richmond Hwy., tried to bite the officer. He was also in possession of a firearm. Musgrove was charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, concealed weapon and escape.

BURGLARY: 7200 block of Fairchild Drive, 11/01/15 at about 1 a.m. The victim awoke to find two unknown men in his apartment, apparently attempting to steal his TV. The victim confronted them and they left the TV. One suspect was tentatively identified and the investigation continues.

MASON DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY: 7200 block of Arlington Blvd., 10/30/15 at about 10:48 a.m. A suspect entered a business, brandished a gun and demanded money. The victim handed over and undisclosed amount money and the suspect fled. The victim was not injured. The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, about 160 pounds, wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and a ski mask.

RESTON DISTRICT STATION

MALICIOUS WOUNDING: Clyde’s, 11905 Market Street, 11/01/15, around 1:21 a.m. A 24-year-old Vienna man and his 26-year-old girlfriend from Fairfax, were at the bar when an unknown man approached and started to “flirt” with the girlfriend. A verbal argument began between the boyfriend and the unknown man and it escalated into a physical altercation. The unknown man produced a knife and allegedly cut the boyfriend and then fled. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was described as Hispanic, wearing a black jacket, a white shirt and blue jeans.

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY: 7000 block of Skyles Way., 10/30/15 at about 3:31 p.m. The victim, a pizza delivery driver, was near his vehicle when he was approached by two subjects, one of whom displayed a handgun and a knife. The suspects demanded money and the victim handed over an undisclosed amount of cash; he was not injured. The suspects were located a short distance away, positively identified and subsequently arrested. Richard Stevens, 21, of no fixed address and a 17-year-old male from Springfield, were charged with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

ROBBERY: 6100 block of Franconia Road., 11/01/15 at about 2:15 p.m. A suspect entered a business, brandished a gun and demanded money. The victim handed over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect took the cash and cigarettes and fled. The victim was not injured. The suspect was described as a black male in his early 20s, medium build, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, with a black goatee. He was wearing a black hat, a black, hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
