RESTON DISTRICT STATION

ACCIDENTAL DEATH: 11400 Block of North Shore Drive, 11/02/15, 5:04 p.m. A maintenance man at the Fellowship House responded to a smoke alarm at one of the apartments. Upon entry he found the resident, a 77-year-old man, lying on the kitchen floor on fire. The fire was quickly extinguished with blankets and 9-1-1 was called. The police helicopter, Fairfax 1, responded and flew the patient to the Washington Burn Center. The patient was able to make a statement that while cooking, he caught himself on fire. He was found to have second degree burns to 58% of his body and unfortunately passed away just before midnight.

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY: Dead end of Shepherd Hills Rd., 11/02/15, 10:45 p.m. A 24-year-old man reported that he walked past four subjects. One of them turned around and hit the victim in the back of the head causing him to fall to the ground. The suspect removed the victim’s tennis shoes and fled. The victim did not require medical attention. The suspect was described as a light skin, black male with an “Afro” type hair style. He was wearing khaki pants and a white shirt.
