Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Reston

A 47-year-old Fairfax man was struck and seriously injured while crossing Sunset Hills Road in Reston on Friday, November 27.

The man was walking eastbound on the sidewalk of Sunset Hills Road prior to Isaac Newton Square West at around 10:50 a.m. when he stepped into the road to cross. He was struck by a Reston area man driving a 2011 Chevy Impala; he stayed on scene and was not injured.

The patient was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital with life threatening injuries.

Detectives from the Crash Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene and are continuing to investigate the crash. No charges have been placed.
