This report is published every weekday, except county holidays. The information in each report covers significant criminal incidents generally from the day before; reports published on Monday cover the preceding Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Some incidents may appear a day or two after the occurrence.
The report contains selected crimes, including animal-related incidents and property crimes. The information is organized by police district station. Addresses shown indicate blocks and not specific locations. This report is not a comprehensive list of every police event in Fairfax County in the stated time frame.

The police department’s records management system is undergoing a major upgrade. This will prohibit some incidents and information from being included in the Daily Blotter until the upgrade is complete; this includes some arrest information. Grant funded DWI patrols throughout the county on Wednesday, November 25 at 8 p.m. until Thursday, November 26 at 4 a.m. resulted in three arrests for DWI, one arrest for possession of marijuana and 26 traffic summonses.
DWI patrols in the Mount Vernon District on Friday, November 27 at 8 p.m. until Saturday, November 28 at 4 a.m. resulted in one arrest for DWI, 19 warning tickets and 10 traffic summonses.

ROBBERY/ARREST: 6200 block of Richmond Hwy., 11/25/15, 11:05 p.m. A 61-year-old man reported that a man approached him in the McDonald’s parking lot and assaulted him. The suspect took the victim’s i/Phone and fled on foot. The police helicopter and a K9 team responded. They located the suspect hiding in a wooded area adjacent to McDonald’s. Charles Finley, 41, of no fixed address was arrested and charged with grand larceny and malicious wounding. The victim was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
ROBBERY/MALICIOUS WOUNDING: 6300 block of S. Kings Hwy. 11/26/15, 3:30 a.m. A 32-year-old man reported that a man approached him as he sat in his car. The man broke out the driver’s window, cut the victim with an unknown edged weapon and demanded money. The victim handed over an undisclosed amount of cash. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled on foot. He was described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

VEHICLE PURSUIT/HIT AND RUN/STOLEN AUTO/ARREST: Annandale Rd/Gallows Rd. 11/27/15, 5:58 p.m. A lookout was broadcast to Fairfax County officers regarding an armed robbery that had just been committed in the City of Fairfax. Fairfax County officers located the suspect vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle fled and a pursuit began. The suspect vehicle crashed and its occupants were apprehended. The police helicopter and K9 assisted in the apprehension. Fairfax City Police charged the suspects; all from Washington, D.C., with robbery. Additional charges are pending further investigation. Several minor injuries were reported.
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 6500 block of Arlington Boulevard, 11/29/15, 12:23 p.m. A 52-year-old man, the cashier at the Shell gas station, reported that a man came into the office, produced a handgun and demanded money. An undisclosed amount of cash was handed over and the victim was not injured. The suspect fled on foot. He was described as white, 25-30 years old, with an average build, with a beard. He was wearing a dark baseball cap and a gray shirt.

GRAND LARCENY/ARREST: 1800 block of Fountain Dr. 11/27/15, 6:41 p.m. Officers assigned to the (RATT) Retail Anti-theft Team, observed three people acting in a suspicious manner; making multiple trips into and out of the Best Buy, and to a rental vehicle in the parking lot. The subsequent investigation produced/recovered more than $10,000 in stolen merchandise from Best Buy and Walmart. The three suspects from the Baltimore-area, were arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit larceny, grand larceny, grand larceny with intent to sell, and possession of burglarious tools.
BURGLARY WITH APPREHENSION: 11700 block of Bowman Green Dr. 11/29/15, 10:43 p.m. Officers, including K9, responded to a commercial burglar alarm and set up a perimeter while (DPSC), The Department of Public Safety Communications, stayed in communication with the alarm company. When the suspect exited the business, officers challenged him. He complied with commands and was taken into custody without incident or injury. He was charged with burglary.

LARCENY BY FALSE PRETENSE/ARREST: Target, 6600 Springfield Mall, 11/25/15, 6:17. Target Loss Prevention notified our (CATT) Christmas Anti-Theft Team of a possible fraudulent coupon scheme in progress. CATT members responded, surveilled the four suspects and took them into custody. The suspects; all from the Chicago area, were charged with larceny by false pretense. Their vehicle, a 2011 Chrysler minivan, was seized.
POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE/ARREST: Virginia Hills Ave. and Tyne St. 11/27/15, 1:34 a.m. While in flight for another call for service, the crew of Fairfax 1 (the police helicopter), observed two suspects making what they believed to be a hand-to-hand drug transaction. They directed ground patrol units to the area and the suspects were located. The subsequent investigation revealed an undisclosed quantity of marijuana and cash. The suspects were charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Their identities have been intentionally withheld pending further investigation.
ARMED ROBBERY: 7400 block of Pohick Rd., 11/28/15, 6:36 p.m. A 50-year-old man reported that he was approached from behind, by a man who pushed a gun in his back and demanded money. The victim handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and was not injured. The suspect fled on foot toward Richmond Highway. The suspect was described as a black male, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a skinny build. He was wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt, black pants, gloves and a mask covering his face.
