The Daily Blotter December 2, 2015

This report is published every weekday, except county holidays. The information in each report covers significant criminal incidents generally from the day before; reports published on Monday cover the preceding Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Some incidents may appear a day or two after the occurrence.

The report contains selected crimes, including animal-related incidents and property crimes. The information is organized by police district station.  Addresses shown indicate blocks and not specific locations. This report is not a comprehensive list of every police event in Fairfax County in the stated time frame.

Note: Information contained in the Daily Blotter is generally based on initial reports made to the police department. Follow-up investigations may reveal different or additional information.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

The police department’s records management system is undergoing a major upgrade. This will prohibit some incidents and information from being included in the Daily Blotter until the upgrade is complete; this includes some arrest information. Every attempt will be made to include as much important, timely and relevant information as possible.

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY: 7400 block of Ardglass Dr., 12/01/15, 7:18 p.m. A 29-year-old man was walking alone when a man approached him, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The victim handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and was not injured. The suspect fled on foot. He was described as a black male, about 6 feet tall, wearing black clothing and a ski mask over his face.

ASSAULT: 6900 block of Mary Caroline Cir. 12/01/15, 6:06 p.m. A 42-year-old woman was walking alone when a man appeared from out of the bushes, grabbed her in a bear hug and groped her. The suspect then fled on foot. The victim was not injured. The suspect was described as a male of unknown race, 25 to 35 years old, wearing dark clothing.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

LARCENIES:

 FAIR OAKS DISTRICT STATION

MISSILE INTO OCCUPIED DWELLING: 4800 block of Green Duck Ln. 12/02/15, 1:52 a.m. Officers responded to the report of what sounded like gunshots. A caller then reported finding what they believed to be a bullet hole in the front window of the home. Officers found several shell casings in the area outside the home. There were no injuries. The preliminary investigation determined that this is most likely a domestic related incident; not random. The investigation continues.
