(11/19/15) Public’s Help Sought in Identifying Man Struck by Vehicle
Police are requesting the public’s help identifying a man who was struck by a vehicle and seriously injured on Thursday, November 19. Officers were called to the crash, located at Lee Jackson Memorial Highway (Rt. 50) and Graham Road, in the Falls Church area, around 9:40 p.m. An investigation determined the man may have possibly exited a bus and was attempting to cross over Route 50 when he was struck by the vehicle. The striking vehicle remained at the scene. Detectives have determined that neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the crash.
The injured man was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital and admitted to the Trauma ICU. Detectives have been unable to identify the man and locate any family members. They have determined the man may be a bus rider who frequents the Route 50 corridor between the Eden Center and Loehmann’s Plaza. Within the past month, he was seen in the area of the Eden Center in Falls Church, in the company of a woman who was assisting him in his efforts to find work. It is believed he may have family and friends in Virginia or Maryland.
Detectives believe the man could be 30 to 45 years old. He is between 5 feet 5 inches tall and 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 150 to 170 pounds. He has short, black hair and brown eyes. The man also has numerous tattoos on his body. His tattoos seem to indicate he has family members with the names Thien, Lam, Tai, Quy and Sary. Detectives are hoping someone will recognize these tattoos and be able to identify this man. He may possibly go by the name Truc.
If anyone recognizes these tattoos or believes they may know the identity of this man, they are asked to call Fairfax County Police at 703-691-2131.
