On Friday, November 6, around 6 p.m., a man was observed placing a skimming device on an automated teller machine (ATM) in the 9500 block of Lorton Market Street. The suspect had also been seen placing a skimming device on an ATM in Leesburg. He was described as white, wearing a blue jacket and a baseball cap.
Criminals use skimming devices to capture information from the automated teller cards of unsuspecting customers.
