STRONG-ARM ROBBERY: 5900 block of Fort Dr. 12/08/15, 5:19 a.m. The victim, a 44-year-old cab driver from Fairfax, picked up a fare in Leesburg and drove him to the McDonalds on Fort Drive in Centreville. The fare, a Middle Eastern male, appeared to be intoxicated and refused to pay for the trip. He then allegedly assaulted the victim and took his cell phone. The suspect fled on foot toward the Centrewood Plaza Shopping Center. The victim sustained minor injuries but did not require medical transport. The suspect was further described as about 25 years old, approximately 6 feet tall, with a thin build and a beard. He was wearing a “beanie”, a red, hooded sweatshirt, khaki pants and boots.
SUSPICIOUS EVENT: Sully Park Dr. / Westfield’s Blvd. 12/08/15, 3:30 p.m. A 13-year-old girl was walking on the sidewalk when she was approached by a black male on a bicycle. As the suspect rode by, he reached out and touched the victim on her buttocks. He circled back and attempted to engage the victim in conversation but when she lifted her cell phone to take his photograph, the suspect fled. The victim was not injured. The suspect was described as being in his early 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a mustache. He was wearing some sort of hat.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA/USE OF FORCE: 1500 block of North Village Rd. 12/08/15, 10:57 p.m. An officer made a traffic stop for an expired license plate and no state inspection. As the officer approached the car on foot, she detected a strong smell of burning marijuana. She asked the driver to step out of the vehicle and when he did, the driver locked the door and put the car keys in his pocket and became uncooperative and belligerent with the officer. Backup officers arrived and attempted to take the suspect into custody for obstruction of justice, but he physically resisted. One officer deployed the (ECW) Electronic Control Weapon in “Drive Stun” mode to gain compliance. The suspect was then arrested without further incident. There were no injuries. The vehicle was searched incident to the arrest and suspected marijuana and cocaine was seized from the vehicle and from the suspect’s person. The suspect, Ty Connor Allen, 27, of Reston, was transported to the Adult Detention Center and charged with obstruction of justice, possession of marijuana, and possessing a chemical unlawfully received. LARCENY/FOOT PURSUIT/USE OF FORCE: 12100 block of Sunset Hills Rd. 12/09/15, 12:12 a.m. Officers responded to the Target Store in Reston for the report of two intoxicated subjects inside the store after closing. Both subjects were walking out of the store as officers arrived. Store employees advised that the suspects had left the store with merchandise they had not paid for. Officers gave commands to the suspects to stop, but they disregarded those commands and fled across the parking lot, into a wooded area adjacent to the store. Officers gave chase and apprehended one suspect without incident. The second suspect again failed to obey lawful commands from the officers and the (ECW) Electronic Control Weapon was deployed; resulting in compliance by the second suspect. Larrell Lansdowne, 32, of Freetown Court in Reston, was charged with grand larceny and being drunk in public. Shannon Jimenez, 33, of Greywing Square in Reston, was charged with petit larceny and being drunk in public. There were no injuries to the officers or to the arrestees. No arrestee photographs were available at the time of this posting.
TRAFFIC PURSUIT/ARREST: Backlick Rd/Hechinger Dr. 12/09/15, 12:02 a.m. An officer observed a vehicle with expired license plates and defective equipment. He attempted to stop the vehicle but it fled and a pursuit was initiated. The suspect vehicle struck a mailbox and a trash can before attempting to ram a police cruiser. The pursuit continued until the suspect vehicle struck a curb on the ramp from I395 to Duke Street, causing a flat tire. The suspect vehicle pulled into the parking lot of Landmark Mall and the driver and passenger bailed out and attempted to flee on foot. They were apprehended a short distance away. There were no injuries. Jamal Herbert, 29, of Washington, D.C. was charged with DWI, speed to elude, driving on a suspended license, and assault on a law enforcement officer. The passenger was released at the scene.
ARMED ROBBERY: 7400 block of Lone Star Ct. 12/08/15, 11:16 p.m. The victim was parking her car when a man approached her from behind, produced a handgun and demanded money. The victim told the suspect that she had no money and he fled on foot. He was described as being black, 20-25 years old, 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 8 inches tall, 140 to 150 pounds, wearing all black clothing.
