UPDATE – Continuing Investigation: In-Custody Death; Death Appears Medical in Nature
Detectives from our Major Crimes Division are continuing their investigation regarding the in-custody death of Monty Roy Saito on Friday, November 20, while he was an inmate at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. Saito had been housed in the medical infirmary for monitoring since November 18 and was in the custody of the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office. He was found unresponsive overnight on Thursday, November 19 and transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital. Saito passed away in the early morning hours on Friday. An autopsy was conducted on November 20.
Preliminary interviews have been concluded and detectives are awaiting the autopsy report from the Office of the Medical Examiner.
