BURGLARY: 7400 block of Lee Highway. 1/12/16, 8:43 a.m. An employee reported that someone entered a maintenance room and took tools.

MASON DISTRICT STATION

No significant events reported.

Mason District Commanders; Captain Andy Hill and Lieutenant Tony Matos, presented long time VIPS (Volunteer in Police Service), Mary Weaver with a certificate of appreciation yesterday, for her hard work and dedication to the men and women of the Mason District Station. Mary is lovingly referred to as Sergeant Weaver by the officers, and the station would not be the same without her!

RESTON DISTRICT STATION

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

ATTEMTED ROBBERY: 6000 block of Ridge View Dr. 1/12/16, 9:18 a.m. A 22-year-old, female delivery driver was approached by a man on a bicycle as she exited her car. The man engaged her in conversation as he got closer. He attempted to grab her keys but the victim fought back. The suspect fled without the keys. The victim sustained minor injuries but did not require medical attention. The suspect was described as Hispanic, around 30 years old, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, with a small patch of hair on his chin. He was wearing a gray sweater and a gray hat.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

UNLAWFUL ENTRY: 6300 block of Millwood Circle. 1/12/16, 7:41 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown man entered and walked around in the residence and then sat on a sofa in the living room. Responding officers found the suspect, still inside the home, and took him into custody. It is believed that this same suspect unlawfully entered another residence nearby. The suspect was transported to a local hospital for evaluation because the officers had reason to believe he was under the influence of narcotics. The investigation continues and charges are pending.
