Detectives identified a suspect in the Rampant Lion Court assault incident as Marty Mattox, 32 of Baltimore. They subsequently obtained warrants in Fairfax County for Rape, Malicious Wounding, Abduction with Intent to Defile, Grand Larceny, Sodomy, and Animate Object Penetration. The Fairfax County Police Department’s Fugitive Squad worked jointly with the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (Baltimore office) and tracked Mattox to Baltimore City during the afternoon hours. He was arrested at a home in the 600 block of Denison Court at around 6:30 p.m.
He was transported to the Baltimore County jail where he was charged as a Fugitive of Justice and is pending extradition to Fairfax County. The investigation revealed that Mattox had ties and acquaintances in Fairfax County but did not have any relationship with the victim.
(Jan. 21, 2015) Investigation of Assault in Centreville
Police responded to a report of an assault that took place at around 1:40 a.m. Thursday, January 21 in the 13800 block of Rampant Lion Court in Centreville.
A resident of the home heard a knock at her door and a male voice calling for help. She answered the door and allowed him to enter her home.
At some point, the man allegedly sexually assaulted her, injured her, and fled. The victim was transported to a hospital and is in non-life threatening condition.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Division are investigating the case.
