A possible rabid raccoon bit a woman in the 8400 block of Catia Lane in Springfield, on Tuesday, February 16 around 2 p.m. If you see a raccoon acting strangely in that area, or any area of the county, please stay away from it and call 703-691-2131 to have an Animal Control officer respond.

ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT

Officers from the Traffic Safety Division conducted grant funded DWI enforcement patrols on 2/12/16 from 8 p.m. until 4 a.m. the next day. Seven traffic summonses were issued.

Officers from the Traffic Safety Division conducted grant funded DWI enforcement patrols on 2/14/16 from 8 p.m. until 4 a.m. the next day. One arrest was made for DWI. Five traffic summonses were issued, and five drug-related charges were made.

ROBBERY: 7200 block of Arlington Blvd. 2/12/16, 11:40. The victim parked his vehicle and was approached by two men who assaulted him and took his jacket containing an undisclosed amount of cash. The victim did not request medical treatment. The suspects were described as black, in their 30s, wearing ski masks. One was about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighed around 155 pounds. He was wearing a red sweater and blue jeans. The other was about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighed about 195 pounds. He was wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY: 4700 block of Parkman Ct. 2/12/16, 1:55 a.m. A resident reported that someone entered the residence and took property. They also reported hearing a loud noise around the same time. Officers processing the crime scene found what appeared to be a bullet inside the home and an empty shell casing outside the home. There were no injuries.

VEHICLE TAMPERING: 9700 block of Abingdon Ct. 2/15/16, 3:31 a.m. Officers responded for the report of a man dressed in dark clothing, looking into vehicles. K9 responded and assisted officers in locating a suspect. At least 10 vehicles were entered and property taken. Noah Delery, 18, of Davinci Lane, was arrested and charged with vehicle tampering. The investigation is ongoing.
