Assault/Suspicious Vehicle in Alexandria Area
Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspicious white van seen in the 6300 block of Quander Road. On Thursday, February 18, a 17-year-old female reported that she was walking along Quander Road at around 12:15 p.m. when a man drove up in the van and told her to get in and she complied. The suspect made verbal advances toward the victim and allegedly touched her inappropriately. She requested to be dropped off nearby and the suspect let her out of the van at the requested location, not far from where she was initially picked up. The victim did not require medical attention.
A second report of a similar vehicle seen on Quander Road near Stokes Lane, was received on Monday, February 22 shortly before 3 p.m. There was no victim in that incident.
The suspect was described as white or light-skinned Hispanic, in his late 20s, around 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with short, curly black hair. He was heavyset, clean shaven and wearing a white T-shirt.
Since the time of the initial report, patrol officers and detectives have increased their presence in the area, as they attempt to locate the van and its driver.
