Officers took a report of a suspicious person and vehicle, from a teenager on Wednesday, March 9. The teen said she has been approached by a man in a vehicle three times in the past seven months.
The first incident occurred in late August or early September of 2015. She was walking along Great Falls Street near Tyndale Street around 4 p.m., when a smaller, light blue sedan pulled up next to her and asked for directions to Safeway. The driver was a man with a darker skin tone, around 30 to 40 years old, and not a lot of hair. He was wearing glasses.
The second event occurred sometime in October of 2015. Again, a similar man and vehicle approached and asked for directions; this time, to West Falls Church Metro.
The third event occurred on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 around 4:15 p.m. in the 1800 block of Susquehannock Drive. The teen was approached by a blue, minivan, driven by a man who looked similar to the man in the first two incidents. The driver again asked for directions to the West Falls Church Metro.
At no time did the driver ask the teen to get into the vehicle, or attempt to entice her to do so. Based on the information provided to the police department, no known crime has been committed at this time. This information is being released for awareness purposes only.
