Traffic Division officers conducted countywide, grant funded DWI Patrol Enforcement from 8 p.m. on Friday, March 11, until 4 a.m. Saturday morning. The initiative resulted in three arrests for DWI, one driving on a suspended license, two reckless driving, and three driving without a license. One person was charged with possession of marijuana, and a total 26 traffic summonses were issued.

Traffic Division Officers conducted DWI Directed Patrol from 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 12 until 5 a.m. Sunday. Three arrests were made for DWI, 39 traffic summonses were issued. One person was charged with felony hit and run, 3 charges were placed for driving on a suspended license, and 2 people were charged with drug related offenses.


ARMED ROBBERY, 13600 block of Lee Jackson Memorial Hwy, 3/12/16, 1:45 a.m.  A man entered a gas station and brandished a handgun.  The suspect demanded money, took property, and fled on foot. The victim did not relinquish any money and was uninjured. The suspect was described as Hispanic and was wearing a black mask, light brown hat, and a black jacket.

BLOG POST: UPDATE: Third Suspect Arrested; Charged with Murder

ROBBERY: 6000 block Richmond Highway. 3/12/16, 3:38 a.m. Three men were at the Travelodge drinking when an argument ensued. Two of the men demanded the third’s debit card and PIN. A physical struggle ensued and the two suspects took the victim’s cell phone and an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects were described as Hispanic; one with a gray, hooded sweatshirt and dark, “Skinny jeans.” The second suspect was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.

BURGLARY: 7900 block of Janna Lee Avenue. 3/12/16, 2:29 p.m. A resident reported that someone entered the residence and took property.

ROBBERY: 1400 block of Chain Bridge Road. 3/11/16, 2:45 a.m. The victim, a 7-Eleven clerk, reported that two men entered the store, one displayed a handgun and demanded money. The victim handed over an undisclosed amount of money and was not injured. The suspects fled on foot. Suspect one was about 6 feet tall, thin build with long braided hair, glasses, black coat, khaki pants, and black knit hat. Suspect two was shorter about 5 feet 8 inches tall, medium build, wearing all black, and a black cap.

 ROBBERY: 1600 block of Anderson Road. 3/12/16, 7:49 p.m. The victim is a delivery driver and was returning from a delivery. He parked his car and was returning to the business when he was approached by a black male, wearing all black clothing. The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money. The victim handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and was not injured. The suspect fled on foot.

VEHICLE TRESSPASS, 3900 block of Gallows Road, 3/11/16, 3:46 a.m. The victim observed three males enter his vehicle and confronted them and they left on foot. The victim gave a description of the three suspects and their direction of travel to the arriving officer, which was broadcast to other officers.  A short distance away, another officer observed three males matching the description of the suspects and attempted to stop them. The subjects fled on foot and were apprehended shortly thereafter. Mustafa Antar Hassan, 21, of Falls Church, and Khalid Antar Hassan, 24, of Falls Church, were charged with vehicle trespassing.  Anforne Golden, 19, of Falls Church, was charged with resisting arrest and was served with other outstanding warrants.

BLOG POST: Investigation Underway in Lorton Area Homicide

ROBBERY, 7400 block of Larne Lane, 3/10/16, 9:05 p.m. The victim was walking when an unknown person(s) struck him from behind. The suspect(s) assaulted the victim and took a cell phone and fled. There was no suspect(s) description available. The victim was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

ROBBERY, 6600 block of Birchleigh Way, 3/11/16, 11:30 p.m. The victim was exiting her vehicle when a male approached her. The suspect displayed a box cutter and grabbed her jacket. The suspect then fled in a white vehicle. The suspect was described as white, in his 30s, wearing a blue denim shirt, and approximately 6 feet tall.

BLOG POST: Update to Fatal Crash in Burke

ROBBERY: 6000 block of Burke Commons Road. 3/13/16, 10:09 p.m. A man dressed in all black entered the Great Harvest Bread Company and displayed something that two employees thought was a handgun. The suspect presented the object in a threatening manner and left with an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no injuries.

STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERY, 12000 block of Lee Jackson Memorial Hwy, 3/11/16, 7:47 p.m.  A police officer on patrol located stolen license plates on a vehicle while in traffic. The officer conducted a traffic stop and determined that the vehicle was also stolen. The driver of the vehicle, Gregory Clifford Fields, 46, of Springfield, was arrested and charged with felony possession of stolen property, misdemeanor possession of stolen property, possession of forged/altered license plates, and driving on a suspended license.

NARCOTICS / ASSAULT ON LEO / RESISTING ARREST, 4200 block of Fairfax Corner Ave, 3/11/16, 10:53 p.m. While on patrol, two officers made contact with a man who was sitting in his vehicle. The subject chose to discontinue a voluntary conversation, but when he walked away, the officers smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Officers attempted to reestablish communication with the vehicle’s owner but he refused to cooperate.  The vehicle owner and occupant, Andy Amadeo Vigil, 19, of Fairfax, was charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, assault on law enforcement, and resisting arrest.
