Update: Mercado Burglary Suspect Arrested

After much hard work, on March 8, detectives at the Mount Vernon District Police Station executed a search warrant at a local residence and found evidence from the initial burglary. Keith Salley, 46, of Alexandria, was arrested and charged with burglary, grand larceny, and grand larceny with the intent to sell.

(Original Release 02/10/16) Police Seek Assistance Identifying Burglary Suspect

Detectives at the Mount Vernon Police District are investigating a commercial burglary that occurred in the Central Super Mercado, located at 6222 Richmond Highway on December 31, 2015. At about 8:30 p.m., a man forced his way into the store, took merchandise and left. Approximately two hours later, the man re-entered the store and took more merchandise. Surveillance video captured images of the suspects (pictured). If you recognize any of this man, please contact Detective Melissa Wallace at (703) 619-4308.
