UPDATE: Corrected information; Police & Fire Work Together to Nab Playground Arsonists
Police and Fire personnel responded to a playground on fire yesterday, March 16 around 5:30 a.m. in the 6400 block of Fenestra Court in Burke. An alert resident called to provide us with the description of the two suspicious people seen in the area. After the fire was extinguished, officers and a K9 began their search for the suspects responsible.
The search quickly resulted in locating and identifying the two males, and investigation determined they allegedly set the fire. Damage to the playground is estimated to be over $1000.
In collaboration with the Fire Marshal’s Office multiple charges were placed. Nebyou Ayle, 18, of Fairfax was charged felony Arson, felony Destruction of Property, and Possession of a Schedule IV Narcotic. Also, a 17- year-old male, of Fredericksburg, was charged with felony Arson, felony Destruction of Property, and False Identification to Law Enforcement.

*Upon further investigation, it was determined that the suspect who initially identified himself as an adult, was actually 17 years old. He provided false personal identification to the investigators. The person whose information was given and that appeared in the original blog post, was not involved in this crime.*
