GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Motor Carrier Safety Officers conducted an inspection at the Lorton Market Place yesterday. Nine trucks and one trailer were inspected. Forty-eight violations were noted. Six trucks were taken out of service. Seventeen summons were issued.

ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT

Mclean District Officers conducted a grant-funded DWI Patrol Enforcement from 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 17 until 4 a.m. Friday morning.  The initiative resulted in twenty-four summonses issued, three arrests for one possession of a Schedule I Narcotic, and three possession of marijuana charges.

Traffic Division Officers conducted a grant-funded DWI Patrol Enforcement from 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, until 4 a.m. Friday morning.  The initiative resulted in one arrest for DWI, two driving on suspended licenses, two reckless driving charges, and four driving without a licenses.  One person was charged with false identification to law enforcement.  A total of thirty summonses were also issued.

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

PURSUIT / ASSAULT ON LEO / DRIVING ON A REVOKED LICENSE / OPEN CONTAINER, Farmington Drive / Telegraph Road, 03/16/16, 11:21 p.m. A police officer attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation on Telegraph Road near Farmington Drive.  The suspect vehicle continued down Telegraph Road at a slow speed until it rear-ended another vehicle.  The driver was uncooperative during the investigation and was placed under arrest.  Just after the arrest, the suspect assaulted one of the officers.  The suspect was treated on the scene by medical personnel for non-life-threatening injuries.  The driver, Nathan Lewis Dickerson, 45, of Maryland, was charged with assault on law enforcement, driving with a revoked license – DUI related, disregard police signal to stop, and open container.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 6400 block of General Green Way, 03/17/16, 6:50 a.m.  A resident reported someone attempted to enter the residence.  No property was taken.  The suspect was described as a male, approximately 6 feet tall, and had thick curly bushy hair.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 5700 block of Burke Towne Court, 03/17/16, 10:02 p.m. A resident reported an unknown man entered the home through an unsecured door.  The man left immediately when he encountered the resident.  Nothing was taken.  The suspect is described as a white male, 30 to 40 years-old, 5 feet 7 inches tall, skinny build, green eyes, mustache, and wearing a gray shirt and tan shorts.

DWI / ASSAULT ON LEO / REFUSAL OF BREATH TEST / RESISTING ARREST, 10500 block of Braddock Road, 03/18/16, 2:19 a.m.  A police officer on patrol initiated a traffic stop of vehicle for suspicion of driving under the influence.  The driver of the vehicle was uncooperative, assaulted two officers, and fled on foot.

Officers attempted to take the suspect into custody but he physically resisted. One officer deployed the Electronic Control Weapon (ECW) to gain compliance. After a brief struggle, the suspect was restrained.  The suspect sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.  Raymond Luis Romano, 29, of Burke, was charged with Driving under the Influence, Refusal of Breath Test, two counts of Assault on Law Enforcement, and Resisting Arrest.  Romano’s mugshot picture is not available at this time.

The passenger, Beatriz Perez Herrada, 33, of Chantilly, of the vehicle was also uncooperative and arrested for drunk in public.
