ASSAULT BY MOB: Fordson Road / Lockheed Blvd, 04/06/16, 3:20 p.m. The victim, an 18 year old man was walking home from school when he was approached by four to five teenaged boys, some of whom were acquaintances. The suspects assaulted the victim and fled. One of the suspects, a 16-year-old boy, was apprehended nearby. The victim incurred non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at a local hospital. The incident was believed to be gang motivated and charges are pending further investigation.

FRAUD / RESISTING ARREST: 1900 block of Chain Bridge Road, 04/06/16, 6:23 p.m. A subject purchased two items using false identification. The Tyson’s Urban Team (TUT) attempted to apprehend the suspect but he resisted and fled on foot. A K-9 team assisted the officers with the apprehension. The suspect was treated for a dog bite. The suspect was a juvenile and was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center where petitions were obtained.

POLICE SERVICE: 3302 Gallows Road, 04/06/16, 2:56 p.m. Officers responded to assist Virginia State Police (VSP) with a subject who escaped the Northern Virginia Mental Health Facility. Officers checked the area and short time later, the subject returned to the facility.

STOLEN VEHICLES / POSSESION OF MARIJUANA: Edsall Road / Clifton St, 04/06/16, 6:04 a.m. The victim’s vehicle was parked in a driveway while idling. The suspect entered the vehicle and drove to the 6800 block of Edsall Road because the vehicle became inoperable. The suspect then entered a second vehicle that was left idling in the parking lot and drove off. Responding officers located the second vehicle in the 5600 block of Ashbury Court. Caleb Bernstein, 32, of Massachusetts was arrested and charged with two counts of grand larceny of an automobile and possession of marijuana. The first vehicle was also recovered. Please remember to keep your vehicles locked at all times when unoccupied.
