CHILD NEGLECT: 7400 block of Roudsby Court, 04/07/16, around 10:25 p.m. Officers responded for a report of a 10-year-old boy on the rear patio deck of a townhouse alone, knocking on the door, and crying. Officers arrived and a 12-year-old standing next to the 10-year-old, now covered in a blanket, answered the door. The mother was inside the home in another room. An investigation determined the mother allegedly intentionally put her child outside the home. Julia Brandt, 31, of Alexandria, was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with felony child neglect (18.2-371.1). Custody of the children was arranged with a friend of the family.

ROBBERY: 7800 block of Rectory Lane, 04/08/16, 1:45 a.m. The victim was walking to a store when he was approached from behind by four to five men. One of the suspects brandished a knife and they demanded money. The victim did not require medical attention. The suspects were described as Hispanic, 20 to 25 years old, wearing dark clothing.
BURGLARY: 7900 block of Charles Thomson Lane, 04/07/16, 11:30 a.m. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY: 4400 block of Briarwood Ct, 04/07/16, 7:57 p.m. A neighbor reported a group of subjects hanging out inside a vacant home. Officers responded and identified the suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
INDECENT EXPOSURE/ASSAULT AND BATTERY: 4100 block of Pickett Road, 04/07/16, around 4:30 p.m. Police are investigating a report of an indecent exposure that occurred on a county school bus on Thursday, April 7. An investigation determined a group of students were riding the bus home from Frost Middle School. Two male students who were on the bus reported seeing a 12-year-old boy allegedly touching himself inappropriately. He is also reported to have touched one of the victims on the arm, over his clothing. The incident was not reported until the following day. Investigation continues.
ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE: 11700 block of Rockaway Lane, 04/07/16, 5 a.m. Police are investigating a report of an accidental discharge. A 28-year-old man accidentally discharged one round after mishandling his pistol. No one was injured. Charges are pending.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY: 13400 block of Lake Shore Drive, 04/07/16, 4:21 a.m. A resident reported an unknown subject walked into the home through an unsecured door. The subject left immediately when he heard dogs barking inside. Nothing was reported missing.
