SULLY DISTRICT STATION

ASSAULT ON A FAMILY MEMBER/STRANGULATION/GRAND LARCENY/PREVENTING SOMEONE FROM SUMMONING POLICE: 13700 block of Winding Oak Circle, 04/10/16, around 9:26 p.m. Police responded to a report of a domestic violence. An investigation determined a 33-year-old man assaulted his girlfriend, a 34-year-old woman, during an argument, took her phone and prevented her from calling 9-1-1 for help. The suspect fled the home prior to police arrival but officers obtained warrants for assault on a family member, strangulation, grand larceny and prevention someone from summoning police. The victim declined medical attention.

OBSCENE SEXUAL DISPLAY: 14200 block of Saint Germain Drive, 04/09/16, around 3 p.m. police responded to a library for a report of a man touching himself inappropriately. The victim, a 19-year-old woman, was reading when she noticed the suspect staring at her, then saw him allegedly touch himself inappropriately over his clothing for several minutes. The suspect left the library. He was described as white, between 40 and 50 years old, about 6 feet 1 inch tall and 200 pounds. He had short brown hair, was clean-shaven and wore a white T-shirt and gray sweatpants.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY/DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: 5100 block of Ox Road, between 04/09/16 around 6 p.m. and 04/10/16 around 9:30 a.m. Someone forced entry into a business closed for renovations. Nothing appeared to be missing from inside.

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY: 5800 block of Village Green Drive, 04/08/16, between 11:40 p.m. and midnight. Two men robbed a pizza delivery driver, a 56-year-old man. They approached him and demanded money. One suspect struck the victim; they took a small amount of cash and fled on foot. The suspects were described as black. One was between 5 feet 8 inches tall and 170 pounds. Both suspects had their faces covered. The victim declined medical attention.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY: 3400 block of Audubon Avenue, 04/09/16, around 6:44 p.m. Someone unlawfully entered a home. Nothing appeared to be missing from inside.

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

BURLGARY: 9100 block of Lee Highway, 04/08/16, around 9:45 p.m. Someone forced entry into a business and stole money. The suspect was described as white, in his 30s, with some facial hair. He wore a black jacket, dark-colored hoodie, blue jeans and white shoes.

BURGLARY: 9400 block of Lee Highway, 03/27/16, between and 2 and 7 a.m. Residents reported on April 9 that someone stole a television from the residence. There were no signs of forced entry.

BURGLARY: 9100 block of Lee Highway, between 8 p.m. on 04/08/16 and 6:26 a.m. on 04/08/16. Someone forced entry into a business and stole money.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY/DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: 900 block of Chinquapin Road, between 03/24/16 and 04/07/16. Someone broke several windows of an empty home then forced entry and unlawfully entered the home.

MASON DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY: 6300 block of Columbia Pike, 04/09/16 around 5 p.m. Someone entered a home and stole jewelry. An investigation determined a ruse was likely used to distract the resident while another suspect entered the home.

STOLEN VEHICLES:

Observation Way/8th Street, 2011 Ford Focus

RESTON DISTRICT STATION

ASSAULT AND BATTERY: Parcher Avenue/Springer Drive, 04/08/16, between 3 and 3:30 p.m. A 13-year-old girl was walking home from school and was approached by a man. She reported he approached her in a red vehicle and tried engaging her in conversation. At one point, he exited the vehicle and grabbed a hold of her arm, but she broke free and fled. The victim did not require medical attention. The suspect was described as Hispanic, in his 30s, with dark-colored hair and was wearing a dark-colored shirt. Detectives are not excluding the possibilities of a prior contact between the victim and suspect.

BURGLARY: 1500 block of Regatta Lane, between 8:30 p.m. on 04/07/16 and 9:15 a.m. on 04/08/16. A woman reported someone entered her open garage and stole a purse from her vehicle.

News release: Death Investigation in Springfield Area

BURGLARY/DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: 6000 block of Craig Street, 04/08/16, between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Someone entered a home through an unlocked door and stole property from inside. An interior door that was locked was forced open and damaged.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY: 7700 block of Suraci Court, 04/08/16, between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Someone forced entry into a home and stole property.

ROBBERY: 7800 block of Rectory Lane, 04/08/16, around 2 a.m. A group of men robbed a 26-year-old man as he was walking home. The suspects grabbed him, demanded money and fled with a small amount of cash. The victim did not require medical attention. An investigation determined the victim had been hanging out with the suspects earlier in the night. They could only be described as Hispanic, between 20 and 25 years old.
