Culmore Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

On Thursday, April 14, 2016, Major Crimes Detectives were able to make an arrest in an armed robbery that was reported on April 1, 2016. With the help of Mason District Patrol Officers, canine units, and the victim’s cooperation a quick and thorough investigation was conducted. Along with an arrest, a stolen firearm was also recovered and removed from the streets. Daniel Rodrigo Cespedes, 21, of Falls Church, was arrested and charged with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

ROBBERY: 6000 block of Bellview Drive, 04/01/16, around 3:12 a.m.  The victim was in his vehicle dropping off a friend and was approached by a man on foot. The man brandished a handgun and demanded money from the victim.  The victim relinquished cash and property then drove off in his vehicle.  The victim did not required medical attention. The suspect was described as Hispanic, medium build, wearing a white shirt, jeans and braided hair.
