Is Your Teen Interested in a Career in Law Enforcement?

Haven’t decided on a career path? Interested in criminal justice? The Fairfax County Police Department is committed to providing programs during the summer for teenagers. Two specific programs, the Teen Police Academy and Future Women Leaders in Law Enforcement, organized by our Citizens Police Academy staff, are offered free of charge. Both programs are a week long and the schedule is set up with different topics and presentations from officers in the department. Several practical scenarios and a variety of demonstrations are held throughout the week.

The Teen Police Academy is open to male and female students who are currently in high-school and enrolled in criminal justice classes. The program runs from July 18-23 and will be hosted at Falls Church High School. The deadline to apply is May 13th, 2016. For additional details and eligibility, click here.

The Future Women in Law Enforcement Program is open to female students between 10th-12th grade in the Northern Virginia area. This program features a dedicated group of women in law enforcement sharing their experiences and conducting practical scenarios and demonstrations. This class size is limited to 40 students and runs from August 1-6, 2016 at the FCPS Gatehouse Administration Building located at 8115 Gatehouse Road, Falls Church, VA 22042. The deadline to apply is May 13th, 2016.
