Come Celebrate our Volunteers
The Fairfax County Police Department would never be able to accomplish all that we do without the help of our amazing volunteers. Not only do they help keep the county safe and operational by assisting with traffic control, devoting their time to support sobriety checkpoints, assisting with administrative duties, helping with photography, and other community and crime prevention activities; but, they also save the county money.
In 2015 alone, over 200 volunteers from the Auxiliary Police Program, Volunteers in Police Service, and our Chaplain Unit were assigned to every local district police station and other facilities. They provided over 56,912 hours of service to you/your department and saved over $1,424,700 dollars by providing their precious time, insight and valuable resources to the community.
Please come out to meet them and help us celebrate our dedicated volunteers this Friday, May 20, 2016 at 7 p.m. in the Fairfax County Government Center Board Room, located at 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, Virginia, as we recognize them for their truly outstanding efforts. Any media interested in attending this event should contact 2nd Lieutenant Marc Mitchell at (571) 241-7061.
