Detectives have discovered inconsistencies during their course of their investigation. Additionally, the victim no longer wishes to pursue criminal charges in this case and has refused to cooperate with detectives. This case is closed due to lack of cooperation from the victim.
Original Blog: Man Robbed and Shot in the Franconia Area
Officers and detectives responded to the 7400 block of Collins Meade Way early Tuesday morning, May 17, for the report of a man who had been robbed and shot.
The preliminary investigation determined around 2:09 a.m. the victim had exited his car, when a man walked up to him, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The victim refused and the suspect discharged rounds, one of which struck the victim in the arm. The suspect fled and the victim ran after him. The suspect fired more rounds, but none struck the victim. The suspect got away on foot. The victim returned to his car and called police. The victim had non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. No one else was injured.
The suspect was described as black, with a tall, thin build, and short dreadlocks. This investigation is ongoing.
