Update: Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Falls Church Area
The deceased man has been identified as Gerber Mauricio Claros, 53, of Falls Church. The events leading up to the crash are still under investigation.
(Original release) – Police were called to a report of a pedestrian-involved crash on Saturday, June 4. An investigation determined around 10:18 p.m., two men were crossing Graham Road near Arlington Boulevard, in the crosswalk. A 2006 Ford F250 pickup truck was traveling southbound on Graham Road. The pickup struck one of the pedestrians, a 53-year-old man. The man was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the pickup, a 46-year-old man, remained on scene at the crash location. Crash Reconstruction detectives responded to investigate.
Neither speed nor alcohol appear to be factors with regard to the driver. The decedent’s name will be disclosed upon next of kin notification. The investigation continues to determine whether charges are appropriate.
