Detectives Investigate Sexual Assault Allegations

Mason Police District – On Friday, June 10, officers responded for a report of a sexual assault of a 79-year-old woman, that took place in early May, while she was on a Fastran bus in the Lincolnia area. Fastran, a county service, operated through a contract, offers specialized transportation services for residents of the county and the cities of Fairfax and Falls Church participating in human service agency programs.

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division began their investigation at which time the victim alleged that she had been assaulted by the same suspect on more than one occasion on different dates. The suspect, who was the driver of the bus, was immediately suspended from his contracted position with Fastran. The victim did not require medical attention.

This investigation is ongoing and as more details become available, they will be shared with the public.
