Update; Fatal Pedestrian Crash Involving Police Cruiser

 The Commonwealth’s Attorney for Fairfax County, Mr. Raymond F. Morrogh, has concluded his investigation of the police vehicle/pedestrian crash of April 2 and rendered a legal opinion that no individual bears criminal responsibility for this unfortunate accident.
Colonel Edwin C. Roessler Jr., Chief of the Fairfax County Police Department has restored the involved officer to full-duty effective immediately.
Colonel Roessler has directed staff from the Internal Affairs Bureau to meet with the family of the deceased, along with their legal counsel and provide them with an opportunity to view the in-car video of the crash prior to releasing the video to the community at a later date that has not yet been determined.
Colonel Roessler and all of the men and women of the Police Department continue to keep all impacted by this event, in their thoughts and prayers.
