Officers in the West Springfield District conducted directed DWI patrols. 27 vehicles were stopped with no DWI’s and 28 summonses issued.

ROBBERY: 8400 block of Frye Road, 7/5/16, 12:34 a.m. The victim was walking and was approached by an unknown man. The man displayed a weapon and assaulted the victim. He took cash and fled. The suspect was described as black, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, and approximately 27-30 years old.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY: 7900 block of Janna Lee Avenue, 7/5/16, 9:55 a.m. An employee reported someone entered the building and destroyed property. Nothing was taken.

BRANDISHING: 4800 block of Manitoba Drive, 07/05/16, 7:37 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a man running after another man while displaying a gun. The subjects appeared to be known to each other and no one was injured. Brian Steckel, 33, of Stafford was arrested, transported to the adult detention center, and charged with brandishing a firearm.
BURGLARY: 6600 block of Barrett Road, 7/5/16, 10:40 p.m. A resident reported someone entered their residence. No property was taken
BURGLARY: 4200 block of Wadsworth Court, 7/5/16, 2:02 a.m. A resident reported an unknown man attempted to enter the home through a window. The man immediately left when he saw someone was home. Nothing was taken.
SUSPICIOUS NOISE: 8200 block of Willow Oaks Corporate Drive, 07/05/16, 3:47 p.m. Officers responded for a report of sounds of shots being fired in the area. An extensive search was conducted in the surrounding woods and residential neighborhoods. No evidence was located.

MALTREAT ANIMAL: 8100 block of Silverbrook Road, 7/5/16, 6:31 p.m. Officers were called to the parking lot for a dog left in his crate near a dumpster. The owners, Heather Fisher, 33 and Evan Fisher, 35 of Lorton were each charged with inadequate care of animal.
