Update: Arrest Made in Suspicious Noise Incident


Mason District Police – Around 3:47 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, an officer reported that he heard several gunshots being fired in the area of the 8200 block of Willow Oaks Corporate Drive in Fairfax. Additional officers and resources responded to assist in checking the area. Officers from the Mason District, McLean District, Motor Squad, S.W.A.T., K9 Unit, and our helicopter aided in the extensive search that was conducted in the surrounding woods and residential neighborhoods. During the investigation, it was determined that numerous citizens also heard multiple gunshots in the area. No evidence was found at the time and no one was injured.

On Monday, July 11, at around 7:08 p.m. officers responded to the 3200 block of Cannongate Road in Falls Church for a report of a domestic-related incident. While conducting their investigation, officers noticed bullet holes inside of the residence. Information was developed that led to the arrest of Carlos Garcia, 40, of Fairfax, for allegedly unlawfully discharging a firearm on July 5 approximately 10-15 times. Garcia was arrested and charged with discharging firearms within or at a building.
