Daily Blotter August 3, 2016

POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE/OBSTRUCTION/ARREST: Claremont Woods Drive/Groombridge Way, 08/02/16, 11:49 p.m. Officers observed a man with narcotics in plain view. The officers attempted to detain the suspect, when he began actively resisting. Warren Owens, 29, of Alexandria, was arrested, transported to the adult detention center, and charged with possession of a scheduled II drug, possession of marijuana, and obstruction of justice.

CREDIT CARD FRAUD/PURSUIT/ARREST: 1900 block of Chain Bridge Road, 08/02/16, 5:02 p.m. Officers assigned to the Tysons Urban Team (TUT) responded for a report of two men, who loss prevention observed, allegedly making suspicious transactions. A further investigation determined the vehicle the men left in was a stolen vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated; however, the suspects failed to comply. A pursuit ensued and the fleeing vehicle was disabled. The suspects fled on foot, and shortly after, three men were taken into custody. Edler Lopez-Romero, 18, of Springfield and Brandon Lee, 19, of Capital Heights, Maryland, were arrested, transported to the adult detention center, and charged with credit card fraud, forgery, grand larceny, possession with the intent to distribute, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. One juvenile was arrested, transported, and detained at the juvenile detention center.

Update: Robbery and Malicious Wounding Suspect Taken into Custody and Charged

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY/ARREST: 6000 block of Bellview Drive, 08/02/16, 12:50 a.m. The victim was on his phone when he was approached by four men who allegedly threatened violence and demanded money. The victim fled and the suspects followed him. Police were called and an investigation led to the arrest of Juan Daniel Marves, 22, of Falls Church. He was transported to the adult detention center and charged with robbery.


ASSAULT/DISORDERLY CONDUCT/TRESPASSING/ARREST: 6200 block of Little River Turnpike, 08/03/16, 9:14 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a man who was allegedly panhandling and being aggressive towards customers at a convenience store. He also allegedly assaulted an employee of the business. Officers were able to successfully calm the suspect and began to take him into custody when he actively resisted. Justin Demumbreum, 37, of no fixed address was arrested, transported to the adult detention center, and charged with assault, disorderly conduct, drunk in public, trespassing, and possession of marijuana.

BURGLARY: 3600 block of Madison Watch Way, 8/2/16, 6 a.m. A resident reported someone entered their residence and took property.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY: 2200 block of Winterthur Court, 8/2/16, 9:38 a.m. Property management reported an unknown woman was found in a vacant apartment. The woman left when she saw someone enter the apartment. Responding officers located the woman in the area. Karla Flores, 21 of Reston was charged with Enter Property to Damage and Trespass.
