Update – Man Who Threatened Deputy Dies
Mason Police District – Shortly before 4 a.m. on Tuesday, August 16, Fairfax County law enforcement authorities were notified that the man who had threatened a Fairfax County Sheriff’s deputy and was subsequently shot by the deputy, died at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Division and from the Crime Scene Section, have worked diligently throughout the early morning hours, and the investigation continues. An autopsy is scheduled for some time today to be conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Positive identification of the deceased has not yet been determined and therefore no next of kin has been notified.
