Mount Vernon Police District – Detectives have charged 26-year-old Jovica Stanisic of Alexandria with Felony Indecent Liberties following a report and investigation that began on August 18, 2016. Officers responded to a home on Old Stage Road in Alexandria and spoke to the parents of a 10-year-old girl. The parents told officers that on Tuesday, August 16 at around 6:15 p.m., their daughter was walking with a friend to the Riverside Gardens Community swimming pool. They were near the intersection of Stable Drive and Stirrup Lane when a white male with sunglasses and some facial hair, drove up next to them in a silver sedan. He stopped and asked the girls for directions to Sandburg Middle School. The 10-year-old victim reported that she could see that the man’s private parts were exposed through his zipper and that he was touching himself inappropriately. She gave the suspect directions and he drove away. The victim was not injured and there was no attempt to lure the children into his car.

Detectives canvassed the Riverside Gardens and Waynewood neighborhoods and developed information that led them to Stanisic. He is known to drive a silver 2010 Mercedes Benz four-door with tinted windows. He has also been seen driving a dark gray 2015 Chrysler 200 four-door. The images included in this news release are of the actual vehicles Stanisic has driven. In addition, the image of the tattoo was taken at the time of his arrest on Tuesday, August 23. The tattoo appears on Stanisic’ s right arm and has been described by witnesses.
