ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT

There will be a sobriety checkpoint in the Fair Oaks District tonight, Friday, August 26, from 11:30 p.m. until 2:30 a.m.

SULLY DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY: 14400 block of Saint Germain Drive, 08/25/16, around 10 p.m. Police responded to a report of a robbery around 11:30 p.m. An investigation determined that around 10 p.m., the victim, a 25-year-old man, was walking home when two males approached on foot, assaulted him, grabbed his phone and fled. The suspects could only be described as wearing dark-colored clothing, ball caps and their faces were covered. The victim did not require medical attention.

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

UNVACCINATED DOG OR CAT/ARREST: 8600 block of Village Square Drive, 08/25/16, around 7 a.m. Animal Protection Police responded for a report of three dogs left outside in a crate. An investigation determined the owner put them in the crate overnight. It was also determined all three dogs were not vaccinated for rabies. The owner, Pedro Valenzuela, 18, of Alexandria, was issued three summonses for unvaccinated dog or cat. The officer advised the owner of various laws related to proper care and treatment for his dogs and that he needed to be in compliance with the laws or subject to additional charges.

MASON DISTRICT STATION

LARCENY FROM VEHICLE/POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I OR II DRUGS/ASSAULT/VEHICLE TRESPASS/ARREST: 6400 block of 7th Street, 08/25/16, around 10:52 p.m. Police responded to a report of a fight in progress. An investigation determined the victim, a 44-year-old man, saw another man stealing things from his vehicle. He confronted the suspect and a struggle took place. The victim was able to subdue the suspect until police arrived. Johnny H. Le, 20, of no fixed address, was arrested, transported to jail and charged with assault, grand larceny, possession of Schedule I or II drugs and two counts of entering a vehicle with the intent to commit a crime. Both the victim and suspect were treated for minor injuries.

FAIR OAKS DISTRICT STATION

PETIT LARCENY/VEHICLE TRESPASS/ARREST: 12300 block of Quiet Hollow Court, around 1:55 a.m. Police responded to a report of a group of people looking into and entering parked vehicles. The suspects were seen attempting to flee the area in a 2012 Toyota Venza. Officers located the vehicle nearby and initiated a traffic stop. An investigation determined one of the passengers had allegedly stolen a purse from one of the vehicles, a 2008 Chevrolet Impala. Dominique D. Brundidge, 23, of Washington D.C., was arrested, taken to jail and charged with petit larceny and entering a vehicle with the intent to commit a crime. He was additionally served with an outstanding warrant from an unrelated incident.
