This morning, personnel from the Fairfax County Police, Sheriffs, and Fire Department’s had the honor of greeting 108 Honor Flight Veterans. There were 19 WWII Veterans and 89 Korean War Veterans who traveled from Chicago to the Washington, D.C. area to visit war memorials and other sites. It was our honor to be a part of this amazing event

ROBBERY: 7500 block of Fisher Drive. 9/6/16, 9:17 a.m. A 33-year-old woman was walking on Fisher Drive near Fay Place when she was approached from behind by two men who grabbed her purse. The suspects ran and got into a dark colored Honda or Nissan SUV. The victim did not require medical attention. The suspects were described as white or Hispanic, 16-20 years old. One had a medium build, curly dark hair and was wearing a gray shirt and gray shorts. The other white shirt and yellow and red shorts.

UNLAWFUL DISCHARGE: 11000 block of Becontree Lake Drive. 9/6/16, 9:12 p.m. Officers responded for the report of several people arguing in the parking lot. While enroute, reports of gunshots at the same location were received. Several vehicles were seen leaving the area after the shots were heard. When officers arrived on the scene, there were no people or vehicles. One officer found an unspent round (bullet) on the ground. Fairfax 1 and a police Bloodhound responded to the scene to assist. The Bloodhound tracked to an area where witnesses saw several people get into vehicles and quickly leave the area. There are no specific suspect descriptions available but the investigation is ongoing.
CRASH: 11411 Ridge Heights Road (Terraset Elementary School). 9/6/16, 3:52 p.m. Patrol officers responded to reports that a 55-year-old woman was driving a Ford van to pick up and transport children to after school care. There were four children already in the van. She apparently lost control of the vehicle and drove down a hill, striking the school building, breaking through a brick wall, into a closet. No one was injured in the vehicle or in the school. The FCPD School Liaison Commander responded to the scene. Charges are pending for the driver.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING: 5900 block of Founders Hill. 9/6/16, 4:42 p.m. A 46-year-old woman was walking a dog on a path and was assaulted by an unknown male. She was able to get away and the suspect fled. The victim self-reported to a local hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male with dark hair and a beard. He was wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans.
