Virginia Department of Transportation will be milling and paving on Guinea Road, reducing it to one lane, alternating between Braddock Road and Route 236 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for the next few weeks. Stay alert and follow officer’s direction. They will be in the work zone for safety.

ATTEMPTED CARJACKING: Cool Oak Lane/Saint Germain Drive, 09/09/16, 12:29 p.m. A woman reported that a man approached her while she was in her car, allegedly brandished a handgun, and demanded her vehicle. She drove away and the suspect fled on foot. The suspect was described as white, approximately 20 to 25 years old, with long brown hair, acne on his face, and wore a dark sweatshirt and jeans. The victim did not require medical attention.

POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE/POSSESSION OF CONCEALED WEAPON/ARREST: 10300 block of Premier Court, 09/08/16, 9:00 p.m. An officer observed three young men standing in a parking garage. When the officer made contact with the men, he saw drugs and drug paraphernalia in plain view. Further investigation revealed that one suspect was in possession of narcotics and a gun. Austin Tinkham, 19, of Woodbridge, was arrested, transported to the adult detention center, and charged with possession with intent to distribute a schedule II drug, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, trespassing, and possession of a concealed firearm. Anthony Carbone, 21, of Burke, (photo not available), was released on a summons for possession of marijuana and trespassing. A juvenile was released to his parents.

HOME INVASION ROBBERY: 4400 block of Holly Avenue, 09/09/16, 8:00 a.m. A woman reported to police that four men kicked down the door and entered the home. While the victim was on the phone with police, the suspects fled in a vehicle and encountered arriving officers. While officers were placing the suspects in custody, one fled on foot, and was quickly apprehended. The victim did not require medical attention.
