Bank Robbery in Reston


Reston Police District – Officers responded for the report of a bank robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank at 11911 Freedom Drive, on Wednesday, October 12, shortly after 9 a.m. A male entered the bank, implied that he had a weapon and demanded money from a teller. The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no injuries. The suspect was described as Hispanic, in his 20s, about 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 10 inches tall with a goatee. He was wearing dark clothing.
The police helicopter, K9 and SWAT responded to the scene to assist in the investigation.
A suspect was located and taken into custody a short distance from the bank.
The investigation continues.
