Update: Arrest Made in Alexandria Robbery


Mount Vernon Police District – After a thorough investigation, detectives from the Major Crimes Division, Robbery Squad, identified the suspect involved in the Party Depot robbery from September 13.

On Friday, September 16, warrants were obtained for Cornelius Anthony Sniper, 29, of Alexandria for four counts of abduction, robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and use or display of a firearm in commission of a felony. Sniper was arrested on Tuesday, September 20, and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where the warrants were served.

Original Blotter Entry (09/13/16)ROBBERY: 6700 block of Richmond Highway, 09/13/16, 10:24 a.m. Police responded to a report of a man who entered a business, approached two employees, displayed a handgun, and took an undisclosed amount of cash. He fled on foot towards Tower Drive, while police were arriving on-scene. Multiple resources responded to assist and attempted to locate the suspect. The suspect was described as black, about 6 feet tall, wearing a light gray shirt, black jeans, and a black hat with a red stripe. The victims did not require medical attention.
