UPDATE – Suspect Charged in Reston Bank Robbery
The man taken into custody shortly after the robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank on Wednesday, October 12, has been charged. Elvis Josue Alvarado Martinez, 21, of Cameron Crescent Drive in Reston was charged with one count of bank robbery.

Reston Police District – Officers responded for the report of a bank robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank at 11911 Freedom Drive, on Wednesday, October 12, shortly after 9 a.m. A male entered the bank, implied that he had a weapon and demanded money from a teller. The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no injuries. The suspect was described as Hispanic, in his 20s, about 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 10 inches tall with a goatee. He was wearing dark clothing. The police helicopter, K9 and SWAT responded to the scene to assist in the investigation. A suspect was located and taken into custody a short distance from the bank. The investigation continues.
